Ms. JD
Problem
Ms. JD, a well-established nonprofit supporting women law students and lawyers since 2006, was expanding its programming and hosting more frequent events. As the organization grew, it lacked a unified visual identity to tie together its overarching brand and individual event materials.
Methodology
I began by meeting with the co-founders to understand the organization's mission, audience, and long-term goals. From there, I distilled the brand’s essence into its most recognizable and enduring form. I explored multiple directions through sketching and iterative refinement, ensuring the final mark would be versatile, timeless, and meaningful.
Solution
I chose a gold and purple palette—elegant and bold—to reflect both professionalism and youthful energy. The serif typeface nods to traditional legal design, giving the logo a minimal yet authoritative presence. Its simplicity enables flexibility, allowing for dynamic variations across individual event branding while keeping the core identity intact.
